VRP Billet Surge Tank Install
Tools Needed:
• ¾ Ratcheting wrench
• T30 Torx bit
• 7mm socket or flat head screwdriver
• 5mm Allen socket
• 4mm Allen socket
• E10 Torx socket
Step 1: Remove Factory Surge Tanks
• Remove the factory surge tank bolts using a T30 torx bit.
• Loosen and remove the clamps holding the surge tanks down on the rear of the engine using a flat head screwdriver or a 7mm socket
• Lift and remove the factory surge tanks.
Step 2: Replace Factory Fuel Rail Bolts
• Remove the factory fuel rail bolts using an E10 Torx Socket
• Install the supplied black bolts using a 4mm allen socket.
Step 3: Install Gasket and Base Plate
• Install the new gasket on the intake runners
• Place base plates onto the runners, ensuring proper gasket fitment.
• Insert and tighten the 16, 5mm allen bolts into the base plates securing it to the runners on both sides. (Note: The bolt at the back of the baseplate will be longer than the rest of the base plate bolts. This bolt will be 6cm long)
Step Four: Install Gasket and Top of Surge Tanks
- Place the gasket on the base plate ensuring proper placement.
- Install the upper portion of the surge tank using the 20 provided bolts in the order shown below.
Step 5: Install Black Silicone Couplers
• Install the black silicone couplers using 2.5” clamps (you may reuse the factory clamps from factory surge tank to intercooler couplers.)
• Use one clamp on each end of the coupler.
(Note: If you are having trouble installing the couplers it may be easier to install the coupler to the billet surge tank prior to bolting it down. Also check to ensure the gasket is properly seated before bolting the top portion of the surge tank down.)
Step Six: Final Walk Through, Install, and Tune
• Ensure that all bolts and clamps are tight.
• Download updated tune to your vehicle.
• Enjoy the sound and horsepower!
