Staged power package overview
Staged power packages are a way for the automotive performance industry quickly and easily make recommendations to customers based on power goals and budget. Power packages include all of the necessary parts required to reach the designated power level given the vehicle is in good running condition. For the E55 AMG power packages are listed from Stage 0 which is basically a factory updated setup to Stage 5 which includes almost every bolt on mod you can do including a new supercharger. The stages are defined by specific modifications at each level. VRP is the only manufacturer that offers power packages for the 55k.

Note: VRP power packages assume that you have already replaced the defective Bosch 003 with a Bosch 010 intercooler pump
The Stages of the 55k are defined very simply
Stage 2: Pulley + Header upgrade
Stage 3: Pulley + Header + Throttle body + Fuel upgrade
Stage 4: Stacked Pulley + Header + Throttle body + Fuel + External-Tank Cooling
Stage 5: all of the previous upgrades + Aftermarket Supercharger
Stage 0 – 520HP
Stage 0 is a factory update package. It provides the first vital parts to begin modifying your AMG and bring it up to modern standards while providing a small boost in power. This package has the largest pulley size available for the 55k, providing the least available boost pressure from a pulley upgrade.
The kit includes:
- 83mm Supercharger pulley
- ECU Tune
- Split Cooling Kit
- Dry Flo Filters
Stage 1 – 550HP
Stage 1 is defined by its 80mm supercharger pulley and cooling upgrades. This is the first step to making real power on the 55k AMG. The supercharger pulley will increase the boost pressure to approximately 14psi providing the E55 with 550hp.

- Heat Exchanger

- Belt Wrap Kit

Stage 2 – 600HP
Stage 2 is defined by the Header upgrade. Adding a header upgrade can net you 50hp, lower boost pressure, and lower air temperatures. The factory exhaust is very limiting, and the increase flow helps evacuate hot exhaust gasses from the engine.

Stage 3 – 650HP
The stage 3 kit gets us into our third major power upgrade; throttle bodies. This stage is where the 55k becomes “Full bolt on”. The addition of the throttle body, required fuel injectors and improved intercooler pump bring up the power potential another 50hp.

Stage 4 – 700HP
The Stage 4 power package is the final step of the basic bolt on upgrades for the 55k. This package ads a trunk mounted cooling tank, and decreases the supercharger pulley size considerably, Any pulley between 70-72mm paired with the proper cooling mods is capable of this power range.

Stage 5 – 800+HP
Stage 5 is the final stage level of the 55k. This level is reserved for M113k cars with aftermarket supercharger upgrades. These superchargers have massive power potential. There are currently 2 supercharger upgrade options available, both kits feature the same 2.9L Whipple supercharger.
